Conservation Internships Painting Conservation The Chicago Conservation Center is expanding our education efforts through the promotion of our internship programs for students within our Paintings Conservation Department. The candidate will be responsible for project-based treatment of paintings from the 15th through the 21st Century for private, public, and institutional collections under the direct supervision of The Center's Senior Painting Conservator. The internship is unpaid. Candidates must be fluent in English and demonstrate positive communication skills. Applicants should be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a recognized conservation program and demonstrate a career interest in Painting Conservation. The Chicago Conservation Center was established twenty-four years ago to serve the conservation needs of both private collectors and public institutions. The Center's 17 conservators work in six departments: Paintings, Works of Art on Paper, Textiles, Murals, Frames and Gilded Surfaces, Fine and Antique Furniture and Custom Framing. The Center has recently expanded its community arts education efforts with a national and international art conservation internship program. The Chicago Conservation Center welcomes student internship inquiries. All conservation internships are unpaid and applications are accepted year-round.
