It seems that I am going to be the first to post here in the board besides the moderator. I am Ricardo Simões, a Portuguese ceramic restorer. Not a conservator/restorer as I haven't any degree in the field. Yet I managed to acquire my limited knowledge, firstly with another technician and latter by my own means, reading and exchanging opinions and experience with other colleagues mostly in the internet using this powerful and resourceful tool of our days.

I begin to work in the field of conservation/restoration after (a few years after) I have taken degree in History (Art and Archaeology) by the Universidade do Porto (Oporto University).
I have about 16 years of practice in several techniques and in the use of some well known materials. I belong to a few groups of discussion in the net on the ceramic restoration issues and others aimed to the study of ceramic, mainly oriental ceramics.
I have worked for a few Portuguese museums and for private collectors wheter Portuguese or from abroad.
