Hello,
I cannot download issue 2. I have issue 1 and 3, but something happens with number 2. I've tried the web version, printable version, just open, save... everything. But nothing works. When I try to download it, what I get is a file called "You+must+agree...", and I did agreed all the times. So, I do not know what else I can do. Any ideas?
Thank you very much from Spain.

Dear Dr. Muñoz-Viñas,

Welcome to e_conservation forum! It is an honour for us to have you here and thank you very much for your positive feedback on the magazine. I am very familiar with your work concerning conservation ethics. I had the pleasure of reading your book “Contemporary Theory of Conservation” and I think I can say in the name of many conservators that it is an important work, and one of the very few on this subject, which was indeed much needed in our domain.

Thank you again for your participation!

Rui Bordalo

Hello, my name is Salvador Muñoz-Viñas (sorry, those weird 'n' with the hyphen above them may not display well in every computer!). I work in the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, in Spain. Here, teach paper conservation and conservation ethics --I have published several research works on these topics in Spanish and English. I have also carried on some research on the history of painting materials, though I no longer work on this topic.
Thank you all who are reading this message: this means that you have accessed e-Conservation, an initative that deserves all kind of support.
Regards,
Salvador.

Welcome to the forum Comba!

I am glad you are opening this interesting subject.
Indeed the reality between Portugal and Spain couldn’t be more different. I’m not sure about how exactly it works in Spain but if they are trying to unite in one single association then maybe their actual system is not the most adequate. Anyway, what each association is able to accomplish is what it really matters. If they could make it at national level better, but start at regional level is already very good.
I am curious, in a country with so many associations, can anyone be a member of any association they choose? Can someone be a member of more than one association?

Hello, my name is Comba and I´ve been working in Portugal and Spain, two really diferent countries, and really simillar too. The situation in Portugal you already know, there is the Associação de Conservadores-Restauradores de Portugal, but in Spain is a total chaos. As we have 17 different Autonomías, (kind of States, or Departments, with different cultures, economies, government, and laws) each one of them has its own Association... In Galicia we have Arcobéns, but for example in Catalunya there are two of them, and maybe in other comunities too. It has been an attempt of making a Spanish Association, but it was impossible to get an agreement... (this happened some years ago, we have different problems now...) There isn´t a great comunication among all regional groups... As you can see, it´s a really sad situation, so we can´t improve the professional situation of the Restorers as they do, for example, in Portugal

Yes we work even in time like this. Of course, the temperature and humidity in the building are keep in normal values. In Romania many sites (churches especially) are open in the winter. The primordial condition is to keep the walls on a positive temperature (in interior) and to eliminate excesive humidity with a ventilation instalation. In rest work work work....

I am glad to let you know that the font embedding problem is already fixed and from now on you will be able to copy and paste text to your own files. This is thanks to the new version of Scribus Open Source Desktop Publishing which was recently released.

Bine ai venit pe forum!  Wink
Welcome to the forum and thank you for your feedback!
I’m glad to see Romanian conservators are active. I heard this winter was really cold and snowy there. I’m curious, are you working onsite in times like this?

Salutare tuturor,

Numele meu este Maxim Bogdan, lucrez in Romania ca restaurator pictura murala. Am absolvit Universitatea de Arte Iasi, Directia de studiu Conservare Restaurare (pictura murala). Experienta mea in domeniu nu este chiar atat de indelungata (5-6 ani) dar in "cariera" mea am avut privilegiul de atinge si salva extraordinarele noastre fresce (in special cele din sudul tarii), din monumente importante (sec.
