I thought maybe some of you may be interested in taking this questionnaire. I received this info by email and I decided to post it hoping we could help to this research. It has around 6 pages but it's user friendly so it should not take long to complete.

According Mª Teresa Pastor Valls, the questionnaire is part of a thesis project called: "Uncovered Contemporary Paint Stabilizations Systems and Treatments Research. Criteria and Methodology of Intervention" undergoing at Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), Conservation and
Restoration Department.

"The main objective of this survey is to gather the experiences of professionals, obtaining a global vision and thereby to allow adjusting the area of study to meet professionals' real needs with regard to fixation (adhesion) and consolidation in the conservation and restoration of contemporary art. It also aims to document the different study chapters; reproducing real cases in the experimental phase for later testing."

The questionnaire comes in a .doc file and can be downloaded in Spanish or English from:
http://scrc.dipcas.es/home.asp (click the "Colabora con nosotros" link under the left menu)

More details are available in the same file.

Thank you for the tip - I didn't actually check out the size yesterday. It turns out that it is less than 2MB.
But it also is true that I downloaded the file twise before downloading the print version, because I thought it could be because the file was corrupted for some reason.
Now both versions work fine.

Hello!

I am glad you could download the print version. Wink
I am thinking the problem had to be with the connection, not with your computer. It is also possible there was a problem with the server while you were taking the file. Best method to check from where the problem comes is to verify the size of the file you downloaded and could not open. If it has 6.23 Mb as the one on our server, it should work. If it has less, it means the download got stopped earlier than it should. If you tried several times with the web version and it failed every time... then it can be a real problem and I need to know more details so we can run some tests.

Thank you for letting me know. Hope no one else has similar problems but if you do, please subscribe to the topic...

Hello!

Every country, except mine Wink, is on the list because I was just giving some examples.
To be honest I did not know about your association in Bulgaria, I'm very glad you mentioned it. I hope your website will be soon online. Don't forget to give us the link. In a near future our organization section will reach also Bulgaria and we will want to contact your association.

Maybe some of you have already noticed that copy/paste function does not work very well if you have tried to copy some text from the magazine pdf to a text editor. Indeed we have a problem due to the open source software that we use to generate the pdf, thus at this moment, copy and paste from the magazine will not work. We hope to solve it in a near the future.
However an alternate solution would be to use a free PDF to Word converter. There are some very good and for free download on the internet.

Well, my country is not in the list, but I decided to add our organization to the list.
It is called Association of the Conservators in Bulgaria. It was found in 2003 and at the moment has about 50 members. Hopefully we will have our website published soon.

Dear Members,

As you should know e_conservation magazine has a new section dedicated to Conservators' organizations from around the world. Its objective is to inform readers about theirs, and each country’s organization. This is mainly because we know professional organizations are very important and is also important that we learn about them. We do know many of them but our knowledge is limited. Therefore, we would like to hear from conservators from different countries about their associations of conservators and other similar organizations if there exist. We are currently looking to hear about countries such as Russia, Japan, Greece, China and South Africa, but not only. If you know in your country exist more then one association or other small associations, give us some hints.
