Sibiu, one of the oldest cities in Transylvania, is presently the European Capital of Culture. The International Conference “Directions in Preventive Conservation” took place between 26 and 29 of September 2007 in Sibiu, being organised by the Training Center for Conservators and Restorers (CePCoR) within ASTRA National Museum Complex and coordinated by Marta Guttmann.
The conference was held together with another

important event, the Romanian National Conservation-Restoration Conference.
